Insurance, Billing & Discount Programs

Coastal Family Health Center accepts everyone regardless of ability to pay, and provides discounted services to those who qualify.

Coastal Family Health Center is not a free clinic and we must collect from all of our patients in order to continue to provide services to our community. This includes the co-pays from Medicare and private insurance, as well as the minimum fees. We recognize, however, that on occasion, our patients require financial assistance. An extended payment plan is available to patients who qualify. If you would like to apply for an extended payment plan, you are required to interview with our financial counselor.

Payment

We participate in most insurance plans including Medicare. If you have medical coverage, our staff will file claims to your insurance company, Medicaid, or Medicare on your behalf.  Be sure to check with your insurance carrier to see if we are contracted with your insurance before making an appointment. Please be prepared to pay charges, minimum fees, or co-pay for services rendered at the time of your appointment. We accept checks, cards, and cash.  Co-pays are required at the time of service.

If you think that you might be eligible for Medicaid, our staff will be available to help you with the application process.

Uninsured

If you are uninsured we may assist you in applying for our sliding discount scale. Our sliding discount scale is based on income if you have questions or want to discuss payments, sliding discount scale, or your bill, please call Nicole Treber, financial counselor, at 503-325-8315 ext. 204.
